About Delce Children’s Centre
Delce Sure Start Children’s Centre provides information and services for families with young children aged from birth to five years in the local community and is a great place to meet new people.
Sure Start is the government’s programme to support young children and families. The establishment of multi-agency Children’s Centres brings together early learning, health and family support. Delce Children’s centre actively supports parents in their aspirations towards employment, education and training.
The Delce approach is to ensure that every child gets the best possible start in life and helps parents choose with confidence how they balance their work and family commitments.
Delce Children’s Centre opened in September 2010. It delivers a range of services within the centre and other outreach venues, including health, groups for parents and children, family support, adult learning and volunteering opportunities. Midwifery and other health services are delivered directly from the centre. The centre has approximately 950 children under the age of five and is governed by Delce Infants School governing body on behalf of the local authority.
